February 2026

Dear Readers,

February can feel long and heavy, especially in adult general education, where students, teachers and support staff seem to consistently carry full plates. The excitement of the new year has faded, spring still feels distant, and motivation can dip under the weight of grey days. But this quieter month also gives us space to reconnect with what truly drives us. This is where our theme comes to life: Where Love Leads, Learning Follows.

In adult general education, we may not often speak of love, yet it is always present. Learners come to us motivated by care and love for their families, their futures, their stability, or a dream they refuse to let go. Every step they take, from returning after years away to showing up on a cold February morning, reflects courage and commitment. Love also shows itself in the everyday moments that define our work: a teacher adapting a lesson, a staff member offering a warm welcome, a classmate sharing words of encouragement, a learner staying late to master a tough concept. These small acts form the very heart of adult education.

February can feel heavy, but it reminds us that love fuels everything we do for others and for ourselves. In education, self‑love means recognizing the dedication, care, and compassion teachers, staff, and learners bring each day to create communities of respect and growth. Learning takes courage, especially while balancing work, family, health, and life’s uncertainties. Each gesture of support and persistence is an act of love. Even when we’re cold and tired, love keeps us moving forward. Growth happens quietly and unseen. We nurture it with love, purpose, and connection because where love leads, learning follows.
